"Addressing HIV/AIDS issues that impact/affect all minority communities"

Liberty Research Group is an all volunteer agency dedicated in the battle against HIV/AIDS in affected communities of color and has over two decades of professional experience in advocacy and research of governmental public policy and issues which affect the needs of communities who rely on specific HIV/AIDS Programs for their consumers of these specialized services. In July 2009, Liberty Research Group sponsored the National American Indian AIDS Summit 2009 which brought together Native Peoples from all over the USA to speak about their systemic barriers and issues on HIV/AIDS prevention programs they have been delivering to their native communities. Those participating came as far as Vancouver, BC and as south as Florida, and all points west of the Mississippi. The theme was "Keeping the Promise...United we stand at the Crossroads".

THEME for "North American Indian AIDS Summit 2010"        "30 Years without a Cure in sight....What can we do as Native Peoples?"   30 years of HIV/AIDS virus being discovered, we still have no cure in sight. While current HIV Vaccine trials are currently underway, no one vaccine has made it to the point of mass distribution throughout the main stream of society. CDC 2007 statistics indicate that HIV infections throughout the Native American Indian Community are estimated at 14.6 per 100,000 and 18.4 per 100,000 for Hawaii Natives. Looking at HIV/AIDS data from other Indigenious Populations in Canada and Mexico are similiar, even through their social-dynamics and ability to address HIV issues and barriers may be somewhat different than the US Native American Indian Community. None the less they have been affected in ways which are determental to all living with HIV/AIDS in their respective communnities as well. As an International Conference, hopefully we can share our experiences to what we have learned,  as researchers, tribal community leaders, health care workers, community-based organizations, AIDS service organizations, social scientists, and  tribal governmental leaders  throughout the past 30 years and what we can do in the present, and future to help address the needs of those in our Native Communities living with HIV/AIDS thoughout Canada, USA and Mexico.
